Hemangiopericytoma

Abstract

|
Hemangiopericytoma is a tumor of vascular origin found in various site of the body. It occurs in any age group, but is frequently found in middle age. Incidence of this tumor is very rare and few cases have reported in Korea.
A case of hemangiopericytoma was observed in a 46 years old woman. It was located in the ; right labium major.
Grossly the mass was 6X4X4cm. in the greatest dimensions and rather firm in consistency. External surface was encapsulated with fibrous tissue. Cut surface revealed white grayish color with focal hemorrhage and necrosis. Histologic findings showed numerous proliferated vascular channels and neo,plastic cells, characterized by ovoid or spindle cells with vascular nuclei. Reticular network was demonstrable with reticulum stain. Capsule was invaded by tumor cells.
